TriStar will start searching for the stolen Rembrandt
As it became known to the information portal Deadline , TriStar has acquired the rights to film the book by Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Kurkian Ingenious Thieves: Boston Gangsters, who pulled off the biggest robbery in the world of art " ( Master Thieves: The Boston Gangsters Who Pulled Off The World's Greatest Art Heist ). Matthew Tolmach ("The Amazing Spider-Man") is responsible for the production of the project.Based on true events, the film tells the story of one of the largest thefts in history, which took place in 1990 at Boston's Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum . Then the thieves were able to take away 13 paintings, including paintings by Rembrandt , as well as the invaluable "Concert" by Vermeer . The cost of the stolen exhibits was estimated at $ 500 million. After 25 years, the paintings have not been found, and empty frames hang in their place in the museum itself, as a symbol of what happened on that unfortunate night.
