Jared Leto befriends the yakuza
Jared Leto has landed the lead role in the thriller " Outcast ", reports the news portal Variety . The director's chair of the project will be taken by Martin Zandvliet (Land of Mines), and the film will be produced by Ken Kao, John and Art Linsons.The film is set in Japan after the end of World War II. In the center of events is an American soldier who has been imprisoned, who is seeking his release with the help of a cellmate, a yakuza representative. Once released, the hero decides to win the respect of the organization and repay it in kind, for which he will have to plunge into the underworld of Japan. The script is written by Andrew Baldwin (Bastille Day). Outcast will be the first English-language film for Martin Zandvliet , and production is scheduled to begin this fall.
