WB will return Speedy Gonzales to screens
Studio Warner Bros. has begun work on a full-length animated film Speedy Gonzales , reports The Tracking Board . The project is being produced by Dylan Sellers ("Lefty") and Eugenio Derbes ("Instructions not included").The film will be a new version of the story about the mouse Speedy Gonzales - a famous character from the classic cartoons of the Looney Tunes series. For the first time, the Mexican Speedy was introduced to the audience in the short film "Fast Gonzales", which later won the Oscar . The main character is distinguished by the fact that he develops tremendous speed and causes a lot of problems for his enemy - the cat Sylvester . Also in the cartoons about Speedy his cousin Slopeck , the slowest mouse in Mexico, appeared, and in the 60s the enemy of Gonzales was Duffy Duck . Several years ago, New Line studio tried to shoot a new animation film about Speedy Gonzales , but the project was eventually frozen. Now Warner Bros. , which owns the rights to all Looney Tunes characters, will try to return the lightning mouse to the screens.  In the past, cartoons about Speedy Gonzales caused some controversy in society, as they were full of ethnic stereotypes about Mexicans.
