Image The Tracking Board has learned that Warner Bros. is starting work on a new feature film about the adventures of Tom and Jerry b>. Kate Adams and Jesse Erman are responsible for the production of the project.

The studio acquired the rights to the series in 2006, and it planned to release the first full-length feature film back in 2009, following the success of Alvin and the Chipmunks. The director's chair was given to Dan Lean and the script was written by Eric Grevning. But then the project was closed. The studio WB plans to make the new film an animation one.

The characters in the animated series were created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera and were first introduced to viewers in 1940. Seven episodes of this hit project won Oscars .

The first full-length cartoon about the cat Tom and the mouse Jerry was released on the big screens in 1992 and was called "Tom and Jerry: The Motor!" It was directed by Phil Roman and written by Dennis Marks. The film received mostly negative reviews from critics and audiences, in large part due to the fact that it was filmed as a comedy musical. In 2014, Warner Bros. released on video the latest animated film featuring their favorite characters - "Tom and Jerry: The Lost Dragon."
