Giant shark changes owner
Many horror fans were overjoyed when it became known that Eli Roth would take over as the director of the thriller " Meg ". But now, according to the portal Movieweb , the filmmaker, known for the horror films "Fever" and "Hostel", has decided to leave the project.Warner Bros. quickly picked up Rota a replacement: John Terteltaub is already in talks with the studio. Work on the adaptation has been going on for almost 20 years, and the last draft was written by Dean Jorgaris (Life of Pi). The major is co-financing the thriller with the Chinese company Gravity , and the project is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Bell Avery and Colin Wilson. The events in the film will revolve around a giant prehistoric shark that is in the habit of eating swimmers off the coast of China. Locals soon find out that the shark is a representative of the megalodon species - one of the largest and most powerful predators in the history of mankind.  The first attempt at adapting a Steve Alten novel was made by Disney back in 1997. Since then, Hollywood studios have repeatedly intended to transfer the work to screens, but to no avail.  John Terteltaub is known to viewers for the National Treasure dilogy, as well as for the films The Kid and The Sorcerer's Apprentice. The thriller Meg will become an attempt to realize himself in a new genre for him, and Warner Bros. and Gravity have high hopes for the project, hoping to repeat the success "World of the Jurassic".
