Del Toro left the Dark Justice League adaptation

Image As reported by The Hollywood Reporter , the film adaptation of the comics Dark Justice League , dubbed " Dark Universe ", was left without a director. Guillermo del Toro , who was planning to lead the shooting, refused to participate in the project.

Now the filmmaker is finishing work on the gothic horror "Crimson Peak", the USA premiere of which is scheduled for October 15 . According to insider information, the next project for the monster connoisseur is the sequel to the blockbuster Pacific Rim, and Dark Universe , in turn, does not fit into the director's busy schedule.

The departure of Guillermo became known after Warner Bros. made a statement about the separation of the screen adaptations of the comics DC and Vertigo . Thus, Justice League, Wonder Woman, The Flash and similar superhero films will be released under the WB brand, while The Sandman and other films with lesser-known characters will go under the wing New Line Cinema . This move will help the studio differentiate between Vertigo projects and blockbusters related to the Justice League universe.

The Dark Universe will continue to be curated by Warner Bros. The film is expected to feature such characters as Constantine , Swamp Thing , Zatanna , Dead Man and others. Initially, some of them were dedicated to individual graphic novels of the Vertigo publishing house, and later they were integrated into the DC universe.
