Jake Gyllenhaal joins the Avengers
An important milestone in the career of Jake Gyllenhaal was the roles in the films Denis Villeneuve The Enemy and The Captives. According to The Hollywood Reporter , the actor will continue to work with the Canadian filmmaker on the adaptation of the novel " Son " by the famous Norwegian writer Ju Nesbe.The main character of the book is the up-and-coming wrestler Sonny Lofthus , whose life went downhill after his father committed suicide. Soon, the protagonist became addicted to drugs and thundered behind bars for a crime he did not commit. Twelve years later, he suddenly finds out that he was mistaken, considering his father a corrupt policeman who committed suicide due to remorse. Sonny decides to arrange a jailbreak to take revenge on the perpetrators of his misfortunes ... According to Nesbe , he drew inspiration for the crime novel from Holy Scripture .  " Son " will be the second project of Gyllenhaal 's own production company, which transferred the drama "Stronger" about the 2013 Boston Marathon terrorist attack to post-production a few days ago. Insiders have not yet clarified whether Jake is planning to limit himself to producing the film adaptation of Nesbe , or whether he is also ready to embody the image of the bestselling main character. Taking into account the fact that Villeneuve has already agreed to take the director's chair of “ Son ”, the second option seems more likely.
