AMC will create an empire of the dead?
Following the super popular TV series The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead , AMC may launch another intriguing zombie project is on the air. At the Wizard World festival in Louisville, artist Arthur Sydem announced to WHAS11 that the cable channel has taken under its wing the adaptation of the comic " Empire of the Dead " ( Empire of the Dead ).In May of this year, Demarest Films started developing the project. The main characters of the graphic novel by George A. Romero ("Night of the Living Dead") are New Yorkers who had to face two types of living dead at once - zombies and vampires. The godfather of the zombie horror genre is expected to act as writer and producer on the series. Officials of the channel AMC have not yet confirmed the information about the conclusion of the deal with Demarest Films .  Demarest Films has a track record of films such as Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Doubt and Most Dangerous Man. Last year, the company's management decided to focus on small screens. The studio's first television series will be an adaptation of John Le Carre's Nocturnal Administrator, starring Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston.  This summer, The Walking Dead producer and director Greg Nicotero announced a plan to keep zombies on AMC for 52 weeks of the year. With the help of " Empire of the Dead ", the channel bosses may well implement this idea. Back in March, the TV series " Fear the Walking Dead " received an extension for the second season, and just a few days ago, fans of the franchise learned that in the next TV season, Rick Grimes's friends will also return to the screens .
