Bekmambetov starts production of new ”Elok”
Timur Bekmambetov , representing his company Bazelevs at the American Film Market taking place this week, told reporters about the fate of the continuation of the popular, both in USA and on West, movie franchises "Christmas trees ".The portal Variety has learned that, in addition to USA, Germany, South Korea and Mexico have confirmed their participation in the international fifth “ Yolki ”. Getaway Pictures will handle German production, Traziende Films Mexican, and SCS Entertainment South Korean. Each of the companies will act as a distributor on the territory assigned to it. The new Christmas tree chapter will tell the stories of completely different people from different countries, whose fates are destined to intertwine on the eve of New Years . Each of the six short stories of the comedy film almanac will be set in a new country, with each side involving its own actors who will speak their native language.  " Fir Trees 5 " (aka " Fir Trees International ") will be the sixth film in the franchise - the third of four plot similar films has a spin-off called "Shaggy Fir Trees" a sequel which is also in the company's plans. Bekmambetov himself, now engaged in post-production of the film adaptation of the novel “ Ben-Hur: The Story of Christ ” directed by him, will take on the usual production functions.
