The electrification game

Image As the news site Deadline found out, Oscar-winning screenwriter Graham Moore and director Morten Tildum , who worked on The Imitation Game, have conceived a new joint project.

Moore has adapted his own novel, The Last Days Of Night , in preparation for publication, and Tildum is set to lead the production of a future adaptation. The film will be produced by Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrovski.

Moore's book is about the nature of genius, the cost of ambition, and the battle to electrify America. The novel is set in 1888. The miracle of electric lighting is still in its infancy. Thomas A. Edison is suing his main rival George Westinghouse with a demand to recover an unthinkable amount of $ 1 billion. The industrialist takes a decisive step - he hires 26-year-old inexperienced Paul Krevet as a lawyer. The challenge facing a lawyer would be discouraging for anyone, since Edison is a dodgy and dangerous opponent. But what both sides should not be interested in is the desire to win at any cost ...

The characters in the book are also Nikola Tesla, Alexander Graham Bell, Stanford White and other prominent figures of the 19th century.
