Don Gilliam fully armed
After two decades of failure, Terry Gilliam The Man Who Killed Don Quixote will finally be filmed. Recently, the first photographs of the project appeared, and the filmmaker himself announced that he will sit in the director's chair in October this year, and work on the film will boil in Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands.During a press conference in Cannes, Gilliam confessed:"I want to make the film of my life so I can finally breathe easy". Also Terry announced that the cast of the film included Adam Driver ("Star Wars: The Force Awakens"), Michael Palin ("Monty Python and the Holy Grail") and Olga Kurylenko ("Quantum of Solace"). Gilliam admitted to the press that the thoughts of Don Quixote haunted him relentlessly:“When I finished every project, I thought about Don Quixote . I have a very clear idea of what the film should be like and I think we have a good script in our hands. ”.  Over the years, the project has been plagued by setbacks that could baffle even the most cunning hidalgo. Natural disasters, injuries to actors, financial problems became the reasons that the shooting of the picture was either postponed indefinitely, or even canceled altogether. For the first time Gilliam started talking about the creation of the tape 18 years ago, and since then Jean Rochefort, Johnny Depp, Robert Duvall and Ewan McGregor have shown interest in the project.  Now Adam Driver has to embody the image of Toby - a young marketer who returned to the Spanish village, where in his student years he shot a film based on the book by Miguel De Cervantes. The picture entailed such disastrous consequences that the main character was embroiled in adventures with knights and giants. Palin got the role of a villager who firmly believes that he is Don Quixote . Kurylenko will play the boss's wife Toby .   Gilliam also noted that he had to make adjustments to the script in order to take into account modern realities and the fact that Johnny Depp , who was previously intended for the central role, and Adam Driverhave completely different types.
