CBS will go to Dr. Moreau Island
The Hollywood Reporter shares information that CBS and Philip Iscove , one of the creators of the mystical fantasy Sleepy Hollow ( Sleepy Hollow ), begin work on a television adaptation of the novel by H.G. Wells Dr. Moreau's Island .It was first published in 1896, and since then the plot of Wells has been used for many feature films. The last film adaptation was released in 1996 and starred by Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer. At the center of the book is Dr. Moreau - a man forced to leave London and settle on an island in the Pacific Ocean, where the scientist will finally be able to fulfill his lifelong dream - to experiment on vivisection, turning ordinary animals into beastmen.  The CBS management decided to slightly change the plot of the work. The main character of the series will be a woman - smart and fearless Catherine Moreau , and the drama will unfold in modern times. In his own private clinic located on the island, the doctor tries to go beyond the boundaries of what is permissible and conducts revolutionary scientific experiments on experimental subjects.
