FilmNation Travels to Alaska
FilmNation Entertainment has acquired the rights to film The Quality of Silence by British writer Rosamund Lapton, according to The Hollywood Reporter .The central characters of the psychological thriller are the mother and her ten-year-old deaf daughter, who set off on a dangerous journey across snow-covered Alaska in search of the head of the family, whom the official authorities pronounced dead in a fire in a remote village cut off from all the benefits of civilization. Reportedly, the studio's management has already begun searching for a screenwriter and film director.  Last year, FilmNation acted as a distributor of the drama Room, which brought Brie Larson the Best Actress Award at the last Oscar award ceremony, and the Hollywood film company plans to work on a biopic in the near future.
