According to the portal Variety , the studio Paramount and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have decided on the performer of the leading role in the biopic of Gertrude Ederle: the swimmer will be played by actress Lily James .Winner of a gold and two bronze medals for participation in the 1924 Olympics, Gertrude inscribed her name in history by becoming the first woman to swim across the English Channel in 1926.
