Image A few months ago, Sony Pictures set a date for the premiere of the " Jumanji " remake on December 25 this year. According to the portal Deadline , now the management of the major has found a helmsman for the project: the director will be Jake Kasdan .

Work on a new version of the 1995 film has been going on for several years. The original script was written by Zach Helm, and the latter is by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. It is not yet known when filming will begin, but Sony will have to hurry up to get the film out on time.

According to insiders, the remake will be a reimagining of Jumanji , starring Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst and Jonathan Hyde. The original picture, in turn, was based on the board game and the book of the same name by Chris Van Allsberg, but the details of the plot of the new version have not yet been disclosed.
