“Oh Captain! My captain ... ”
According to The Hollywood Reporter , the legendary Clint Eastwood has found a new project for himself - the director will lead the filming of a biopic about Captain Chesley Sullenberger.In addition to directing, Eastwood will also take over as producer of the biographical drama Miracle on the Hudson . The film will be based on the life story of Captain Sullenberger , described in his memoir Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters . The film will be written by Todd Komarniki (The Perfect Stranger). Biopik will tell you how in 2009 Sullenberger , already an experienced pilot at that time, accomplished a real feat. The plane, commanded by Chesley , took off from LaGuardia Airport, New York. Having gained altitude, the aircraft suddenly collided with a flock of geese, resulting in damage to both engines. Sullenberger made the decision to land on the Hudson River. The attempt was successful, and all 155 people on board survived.  Hollywood was eagerly awaiting which project Eastwood would choose next, because his latest work, "Sniper" with Bradley Cooper in the title role, earned at the box office $ 543 million , which made it the most successful war film in the history of cinema. Eastwood was offered the directorial chair of biopic Richard Jewell, and was also offered to lead the filming of the remake of "A Star Is Born", but the filmmaker refused both offers, preferring the story of Sullenberger .
