Official: Arcel will lead The Dark Tower
Deadline announces that Sony Pictures and Media Rights Capital have struck a deal with Nicholas Arcel (The Royal Affair) , and now the Dane is officially considered the director of " The Dark Tower " - the adaptation of Stephen King's cycle of novels about the arrow Roland Desceine .A month ago, insider information appeared that Sony was in talks with Arcel , suggesting that he not only lead the shooting of the picture, but also rewrite the script of Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner. Arcel has already invited Anders Thomas Jensen, who won an Oscar for his short film On Election Night, as his assistant. The quartet of the project's producers remains unchanged - Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Erica Huggins and Stephen King .  The Dark Tower is considered one of the top priority projects for Sony .
