”Lost in Space” returns to screens

According to Deadline , another famous sci-fi show from the 60s is preparing to return to the small screens.

Legendary Pictures Television and Netflix have begun work on a reboot of Lost In Space / b>). The main character of the story will be a space explorer who was thrown into a hostile galaxy together with his family.

Irwin Allen's project was successfully launched on the air in September 1965, but after a couple of years the bosses of the CBS channel considered it unnecessarily expensive. The budget cuts led first to a drop in ratings, and then to the closure of the series. Despite the fact that " Lost in Space " lasted only three years, the show managed to gain cult status among fans of science fiction.

Based on the series, comics, an animated film and a full-length picture were created. In 2003, John Woo filmed a pilot for the reboot, but The WB Television Network decided to put it on the shelf. Part of the set for the Robinsons: Lost in Space project was then used to create the interiors of spaceships in the TV series Battlestar Galaktika. ( Battlestar Galactica ).

The second attempt to revive the series was much more successful. According to insiders, Netflix bosses can order the full first season of Lost in Space right away, bypassing the usual pilot filming scheme. The show is scripted by Burke Sharpless and Matt Sazama (Dracula, The Last Witch Hunter), while Neil Marshall (The Descent) is eyeing the director's chair.
