Steve Carell will escape from reality to the toy world
The news portal Variety announces that Steve Carell will star in the drama by Robert Zemeckis " Marvenkol ", based on the 2010 documentary of the same name. The new film was written by Caroline Thompson (Edward Scissorhands).The project, which the director has been developing for two years, will tell aboutreal events from the life of Mark Hogankamp. In 2000, a gang of teenagers beat him half to death, after which Mark was in hospital for a long time in rehabilitation. As a result, the doctors came to the conclusion that irreparable damage had been done to his brain: Hogankamp remembered practically nothing from his past life. To escape from reality, he built a miniature of a Belgian village during the Second World War in the backyard of his house, populating it with dolls, the prototypes of which were friends, relatives and even the offenders of Mark . The toy world partially helped the man recover memories, and his method attracted the attention of American journalists.  The film will be produced by Zemeckis ImageMovers and the original documentary director Jeff Malmberg. Over the past few years, Steve Carell's track record has been expanded with the comedies "Anchorman: Hello Again" and "The Road, the Way Home", as well as the sports drama "Fox Hunter", for which the actor was nominated for the Oscar award. Soon, Carella can be seen in The Right to Inheritance, where he starred opposite Ellen Page and Julianne Moore.
