The famous musician Elton John was outraged by the actions of the USA distributor, who removed several scenes from the movie "Rocketman" that depict drug use and homosexual relationships. The artist's statement on this matter is quoted by Deadline,

"We strongly reject the decision to indulge local laws and censorship in the USA market, which we did not know about until now. Paramount Pictures were courageous partners that allowed us to create the movie which is a true illustration of Elton's extraordinary life, with all its peculiarities. The fact that the local distributor edited some scenes, denying viewers the opportunity to see the movie as it was intended, is a sad reflection of the divided world in which we still live. and who can be so cruel to expressions of love between two people. We believe in building bridges and open dialogue and will continue to insist on breaking down barriers until all people are perceived the same throughout the world, "the statement reads.

Note that the movie was produced by the studio Paramount, and the distributor in USA is Central Partnership.
