Casting: Replenishment at Besson and the Billionaires Club
The cast of the new film by Luc Besson " Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets " has another replenishment: one of the roles in the film was received by Ethan Hawke . Besson announced this on his page in social networks.Valerian is a long-time dream of a filmmaker, for the shooting of which an impressive budget of $ 180 million has been allocated. The film will be based on the French graphic novel of the same name, which tells the story of two government agents whose goal is to protect the Earth and nearby planets from bad guys. The film will unfold in the XXVIII century, and those same agents will be played by Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne. Clive Owen and Rihanna also signed up to take part in the filming of the space epic. The role of the newly arrived Hawke has not yet been announced by Besson . It is noteworthy that for Luke Valerian will be a return to the science fiction genre after The Fifth Element. But if in the 1997 film there were 180 scenes using special effects, then for his new project Besson has prepared a rather ambitious plan - the number of such scenes will be 2370.  As for Hawke , he is now busy filming the remake of The Magnificent Seven, and recently the thriller Alejandro Amenabar, The Return, with the participation of this actor, was released. Judd Nelson ("Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back") was cast in the full-length remake of the TV movie The Billionaires Club . He will join Ansel Elgort, Taron Egerton and Kevin Spacey, who have already agreed to shoot the film. It is curious that Nelson played in the original the main character - the criminal genius Joe Hunt , for which he was nominated for the Golden Globe . In the new version, the actor will play the role of Ryan Hunt - the father of Joe .  The film itself is based on true events and tells about the financial pyramid invented by the young Joe Hunt ( Elgort ). In the company of his friend, tennis player Dean Carney ( Egerton ), Hunt creates the so-called "Billionaire Club" - children wealthy parents invest money hoping for easy profit, and Joe makes a profit on it. One day the investor Ron Levin ( Spacey ) appears in the way of the scammers, offering the guys a check, which turned out to be a dummy. As a result, Hunt killed Levin , for which he was convicted in 1987. The script for the remake was written by Captain Maunzer and James Cox, the latter will also take the director's chair of the project.
