Sony won't be left without Spider-Man

Image Many doubted that without the rights to Peter Parker, Sony could launch a Spider-Man-related universe. However, "Venom" wiped his nose to all ill-wishers, having collected more than $ 820 million at the worldwide box office. In a few weeks, the animated film "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" will be released, the main character of which is Miles Morales - Spider-Man from an alternative universe, and bosses Sony are confident in the success of the cartoon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the major has launched a sequel to the film and its spin-off about a team of heroines with Spiderman abilities.

The script for the sequel to the cartoon about the adventures of Miles Morales will be written by Dave Callaham ("The Expendables"). The project will be headed by Joaquim Dos Santos (Voltron: The Legendary Defender). The directors of the first part - Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti and Rodney Rothman - will not return to work on the second, but the production team will most likely remain the same: it will include Amy Pascal, Chris Miller and Phil Lord.

As for the planned spin-off, it is directed by Lauren Montgomery, a veteran of DC comics animation projects. Her track record includes films such as "Batman: Year One" and "Superman / Batman: Apocalypse." Rebeca F. Smith will be writing the script.

Details of both projects have not been disclosed, but Sony has no shortage of potential heroines for the spin-off. Most likely, the center of the cartoon will be Spider-Gwen - a very popular character among comic book fans. She can be accompanied by Spider-Woman, Madame Web, Spider-Girl and Silk. The latter, by the way, will also receive its own play solo album.
