Alien is expected on TV
Just a couple of years ago, it seemed that the famous film series "Alien" was waiting for a truly bright future. Studio 20th Century Fox intrigued the audience with teasers of the blockbuster "Alien: Covenant", and Ridley Scott willingly shared his grandiose plans to create a whole series of prequels for the opening film of the franchise. As a result, the high-budget horror not only disappointed critics and viewers, but also failed to meet the financial expectations of its creators. Last summer, Fox executives had to revise plans for the MCU, after which the fate of the sequels to Covenant was left in limbo.The Omega Underground portal shares rumors that studio bosses are considering the idea of creating a series based on the Alien universe. The serial drama should help the film company take revenge for the failure of Covenant and restore the franchise's reputation in the eyes of fans. Insiders do not rule out that the official announcement of the series will take place next year, when the studio will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of the original "Alien". At the end of this month, Fox shareholders may approve the long-awaited "deal of the century" with Disney. If it happens, House of Mouse will win the rights to many popular 20th Century Fox franchises, including Alien. In this case, the series about xenomorphs may well fall on the as-yet-unnamed online service of the Walt Disney Empire, which will start working next fall.
