James Bond is using a backup plan
Last month, the unexpected news came from Hollywood that the Bond film producers had canceled their contract with director Danny Boyle. It seems that from that moment the owners of the franchise managed not only to make a shortlist of applicants for the vacant position of the director of "Bond 25", but also to decide on the names of the scriptwriters of the film. According to the British tabloid Daily Mail, studio executives MGM and Eon Productions use lyrics by Neil Purvis and Robert Wade.The creative duo has been collaborating with the creators of James Bond since the end of the last century. Purvis and Wade made their film debut in 1999 with The World Is Not Enough. Since then, they have come up with the plots of five more films about the adventures of Agent 007, including all four parts with the participation of Daniel Craig. Now Neil and Robert will help send the actor on his final on-screen journey as a performer of the role of the legend of the British secret services. It was the pen of the old-timers of the spy franchise that the very first script application for Bond 25 belonged. It was expected that the leaders of MGM and Eon would entrust them with further elaboration of the text, but in May of this year, the producers of the film series brought Boyle and his longtime collaborator John Hodge into the project, who preferred to abandon the sketches of his predecessors and come up with the plot of the picture from scratch. Rumor has it that in the end, the studio bosses were not satisfied with the final version of his script. When Boyle was asked to replace Hodge with another author, he chose to leave the project.  Insiders still find it difficult to say whether Purvis and Wade will be working on finalizing their original script or whether they will have to make edits to the text of John Hodge. Work on "Bond 25" was supposed to start on December 3, but now the management of MGM and Eon will probably have to revise the filming schedule.
