When Hogankamp realized that he did not have the money to help professional psychologists, he had to come up with his own therapy. Mark began to build in the courtyard of his house a model of a Belgian village from the Second World War, which he populated with figures of his friends and enemies. An amazing story of escape from reality attracted the attention of documentary filmmaker Jeff Malmberg, who filmed the film "Marvenkol" about the photographer. After the PBS television channel included the picture in the list of the 100 best documentary projects in the history of cinema, Hogankamp's life became interested in Hollywood. As a result, his biopic fell into the hands of Oscar-winning Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump), who, judging by the trailer, will once again prove himself to be a talented storyteller and a brilliant visionary.
