Monsters, Inc. is Coming to TV

Image Disney studio is preparing for its streaming service Disney + an animated series based on the universe of Monsters, Inc., which will continue the original story about the heroes of Monstropolis. To the delight of fans of the cartoon, the roles of Sally and Mike Wazowski will again be voiced by John Goodman and Billy Crystal. The release is scheduled for 2020.

The new project was named "Monsters at Work". He will recount the events taking place six months after the end of the original story, where Mike and Sally discovered that laughter provides ten times more energy than screaming. The plot will revolve around the mechanic Tyler Taskmon, who has long dreamed of becoming "funny" and working alongside his idols - Mike and Sally. Many new characters will appear among the monsters, but familiar heroes will also return - Bigfoot, Mike's beloved Celia and the charming twin sister of Rose.

The original Monsters, Inc. was released in 2001, grossing over $ 577 million worldwide. And in 2002, the film won the Oscar in the Best Music nomination for the song If I Didn't Have You. The story tells about two scary best friends who scare children day after day, because their screams help to provide the entire Monstropolis with electricity. Things are going well for Mike and Sally, but one day a commotion occurs in the world of monsters - a child falls into it, and the reason for this is the tricks of the main characters.

In 2013, the premiere of the cartoon prequel, Monsters University, was held, which turned out to be almost as successful as the first part. His worldwide gross was $ 744 million. And although the figure turned out to be higher, if we compare the prices of cinema tickets in 2001 and 12 years later, it turns out that the second picture is still slightly inferior to the original. Let's hope that the new project does not lose the charm of the original cartoon, which is loved by both adults and children, and fully meets the expectations of the fans of the universe.
