The Show Must Go On

Image Last December, Queen's guitarist Brian May either jokingly or seriously stated that Bohemian Rhapsody could be continued. Since then, the musical film has updated a couple of world box office records and became one of the main triumphs of the Oscar-2019. Today the Austrian director Rudi Dolezal, who has shot several documentary projects about the life of Freddie Mercury, made it clear that May was not joking at all: the Queen members really thought about creating a sequel.

"I recently spoke with the band's manager, Jim Beach, who said they already have ideas for a second film,," Rudy told Page Six in an interview. -The sequel will begin exactly from the moment at which the original film ended - the Live Aid concert. ”

The idea of creating the second part of "Bohemian Rhapsody" looks rather dubious. Director Dexter Fletcher had the tact not to reveal the details of Mercury's fight against AIDS and ended the story with one of the singer's greatest triumphs - an unforgettable performance at Wembley Stadium during a telethon in support of the Ethiopians. Now Queen members want to bring viewers back to the backstage of Live Aid, and then talk about the last six years of the life of their legendary frontman.

Recall that "Bohemian Rhapsody" earned $ 875.8 million and became the highest-grossing musical biopic of all time. She won three Oscars in technical nominations last month. Another award went to Rami Malek for creating the image of Freddie Mercury.
