Frankenstein's Monster will be gender reassigned

Image The film department of the famous horror magazine Fangoria will support two Hollywood fashion trends at once. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the young studio intends to modernize Mary Shelley's famous novel Frankenstein, or Modern Prometheus and put the fair sex at the center of the story.

Fangoria has acquired the rights to the screenplay by Laura Moss and Brendan Jamison O'Brien, tentatively titled After Birth. The main heroine of the chilling horror will be a morgue employee who will miraculously reanimate a dead girl. The woman discovers that the baby urgently needs biological material from pregnant women to maintain normal breathing. Soon, the girl's mother will find out about this, ready to do anything to support life in the body of her child ...

Laura Moss will implement her own script, for whom the horror will become the director's debut in the world of big cinema. Previously, the girl proved herself well in short films: she won two awards at last year's Tribeca festival for her work on the 16-minute crime comedy Fry Day.

Fangoria management continues to reap the benefits of its partnership with entertainment company CINESTATE, which not only helped them relaunch the famous magazine, but also invested heavily in Fangoria Films. The studio's first film was the horror movie The Puppeteer: The Smallest Reich, which earned a 64% rating on review site Rotten Tomatoes.
