Hugh Jackman makes a good spy

Image Producers Walter F. Parks and Laurie MacDonald have been trying for several years to launch a biographical drama about CIA agent Robert Ames, called The Good Spy. According to the portal Deadline, the project is now closer to implementation than ever, as actor Hugh Jackman and director Balthasar Cormakur are in talks to do it.

The film will be based on the biographical book of Kai Byrd, who will act as a project consultant. Jackman and Kormakur have not yet given final consent - the script is still being tweaked. F. Scott Fraser, who previously worked only in the action genre, is in charge of him. On his account there are "Three Xs: World Domination", as well as not very successful action games "Autobahn" and "Digital Radio".

If the negotiations are successful, then Jackman will play CIA officer Robert Ames - a specialist in the Middle East, who saw in the peace negotiations the key to overcoming the differences between the West and the Arab states. However, Ames never completed his mission: he died in 1983 in an explosion near the US Embassy in Beirut.

And although the project is in the script writing stage, if a deal is concluded with Jackman and Cormacour, filming could begin as early as this year.

The former Wolverine is set to appear as Senator Gary Hart in the biopic of the politician and give voice to one of the heroes of the new cartoon studio Laika. Kormakur's latest work, In the Power of the Elements, will open in USA cinemas in a month.
