The Handmaid's Tale Star Reveals Clan Kennedy's Secret
The lead role in the series based on the famous novel by Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale, brought Elizabeth Moss Golden Globes, Emmy and many other valuable awards. Now one of the most talented actresses of the Golden Age of television is ready to conquer the big screens and join the fight for the main film awards in the world. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Moss has signed up to work on the biographical drama A Letter from Rosemary Kennedy.A film about the tragic fate of the elder sister of US President John F. Kennedy was announced in the spring of 2016. At the same time, information appeared that Emma Stone was claiming the main role in the drama. The last time we heard about the project was in the fall of the same year, when it became known that the popular Broadway director Sam Gold would be involved in the realization of the script by Nick Yarborough. Over the past time, serious changes have occurred in the film team. Gold was replaced by Indian director Ritesh Batra, whose name became known to the general public in 2015 when he received a BAFTA nomination for his film Lunchbox.  The role of the representative of one of the most influential clans in America was decided to be entrusted to Elizabeth Moss. At an early age, Rosemary Kennedy was diagnosed with mild mental retardation. The family hid her from the eyes of journalists for a long time, and in 1941 they decided to perform a prefrontal lobotomy for her. The neurosurgical procedure left Rosemary, 23, disabled with the mental development of a two-year-old.  At the end of 2016, the script by Nick Yarborough was included in the famous Black List of the best unrealized ideas in Hollywood, and therefore the film of Ritesh Batra has the potential to become a serious contender for the most prestigious cinematic awards. Elisabeth Moss is currently preparing for the role of a punk rock star in the musical drama Her Smell, and in April she can be seen on television in the second season of The Handmaid's Tale.
