Doctor Strange Gathers Old Friends
Back in August, it was reported that the Marvel studio was secretly preparing for the filming of the sequel to Doctor Strange. Now the journalists were able to find out exactly what the second film about the great magician will be, and the work on it will be headed by the director of the first part, Scott Derrickson. The Hollywood Reporter reports.Benedict Cumberbatch, who lobbied for Derrickson's appointment to direct the sequel, will return to the role of Stephen Strange. The same can be said for sure about Benedict Wong and Rachel McAdams. It was originally planned that Baron Mordo played by Chiwetel Ejiofor will play an important role in the sequel, but there is no information about his return yet. Derrickson co-wrote the script for Doctor Strange with S. Robert Cargill, but it looks like Marvel management will find another person for the sequel. According to the source, the search for a new author will begin in the coming months. Filming is due to start in spring 2020, and the premiere will take place in May 2021.  Recall that Doctor Strange earned $ 677.7 million at the worldwide box office, and therefore rumors of a sequel appeared immediately after the release of the first film.
