As The Hollywood Reporter found out, Somerhalder got the lead role in the new show of the streaming platform - the adaptation of the comic book called V Wars.Do not expect Somerhalder to try on the image of a bloodsucker again: this time he will be on the other side of the barricades and reincarnated as a person fighting vampires. A series of graphic novels by Jonathan Mayberry tells the story of Dr. Luther Swann (Somerhalder), whose friend Michael Fane, due to a mysterious illness, turns into a cruel predator that preys on other people. The virus spreads quickly, and society is split into two camps - monsters and normal people. Swann intends to find out the cause of the incident, while Fane becomes the leader of the vampires ... The project is great for Somerhalder, who knows firsthand how to turn a vampire series into a successful show, as noted by IDW Entertainment CEO David Oser:“We couldn't have dreamed of someone better than Ian Somerhalder. With his years on the set of The Vampire Diaries, he is well versed in the genre, so he will not only lead the cast of the new project, but will also be part of his creative team and will be among the directors of the first season. ".  Netflix has commissioned ten episodes of the drama, co-produced by Wayward Pines and The Carrier, Brad Turner.
