Krasinski and Blunt will find another quiet place
After the low-budget horror film A Quiet Place grossed $ 340.9 million worldwide, entered the American Film Institute's Top 10 of 2018, and won several prestigious awards, it became clear that Platinum Dunes and Paramount Pictures would try to attract work on the continuation of the post-apocalyptic story as many stars of the original as possible. Until recently, only John Krasinski was signed to participate in the creation of the sequel, and even then only as a screenwriter. Today, the producers finally took the bull by the horns and seated several creators of last year's hit movie at the negotiating table.For starters, Platinum Dunes and Paramount closed a new deal with Krasinski. Just a couple of months ago, John announced that he would not return to the director's chair of "Quiet Place 2" and would limit himself to the post of screenwriter. It seems that the creator of the original received an offer that cannot be refused. Today John signed a renewed contract, according to which he undertakes to personally deal with the implementation of his script. The producers are also currently in talks with Noah Joop, Millie Simmonds and Emily Blunt. At one time, Platinum Dunes showed a rare sagacity and signed the young stars of "Quiet Place" to participate in several parts of the franchise at once. With the series' launch film nearly twenty times its production budget, Joop and Simmonds could qualify for a slight increase in royalties.  Blunt, in turn, will have to receive a rather modest salary by her standards. According to Hollywood insiders, the actress recently earned about $ 9 million for shooting in the blockbuster adventure "Jungle Cruise". Since Platinum Dunes and Paramount are not planning to seriously increase the budget for the sequel to "A Quiet Place", Emily's fee could be as little as $ 1 million. Rumor has it that the actress is willing to make such sacrifices for the new opportunity to work with her husband John Krasinski. Also, keep in mind that Blunt's contract will include a percentage of the film's box office. Filming is expected to begin in late summer.
