Medical dramas are rightfully considered one of the main pillars of television. As it became known to the publication Deadline, the British Broadcasting Corporation is preparing its own series about people in white coats. BBC Two has announced the start of work on the adaptation of Adam Kay's novel This Is Going To Hurt. Secret diaries of an intern.At one time, Adam wanted to follow in the footsteps of his father, who made a brilliant career in medicine. However, even while studying at university, he became interested in the comedy genre and founded his own humorous troupe. Kay successfully graduated and even worked for several years as an obstetrician and gynecologist, but then he nevertheless retrained as a comedian and became a rather successful television screenwriter. A couple of years ago, Adam came up with the idea to write a book based on his own notes and diaries, which he kept while working as an intern. This Will Hurry novel hit bookstores in the UK last September. The book became a national bestseller and earned Kai several prestigious literary awards. In his work, Adam tried with humor and irony to look at all the hardships of the life of young British doctors who are forced to agree to many hours of work shifts for a meager salary.  The author himself will be responsible for adapting the book for the small screen. The first season of the medical dramedy is expected to consist of eight episodes.
