Johansson will work with the director of Ragnarek

Image From the combination of Taiki Waititi's humor and the colorful and large-scale action already familiar to Marvel blockbusters, Thor: Ragnarok is one of the most successful films in the comic book universe. Now Waititi is ready to apply his wit in the genre of war drama.

Earlier it became known that the director is going to shoot a dark satire about the Holocaust and World War II and play Adolf Hitler in his own tape. According to the Variety portal, Waititi now has a company: Scarlett Johansson is negotiating for a role in Jojo Rabbit. The script for the film was written by Taika himself, and he plans to start filming this spring. The source also notes that for the sake of the project, the director refused a number of other proposals.

The events of the film will unfold during the Second World War and revolve around a boy who one day finds out that his mother (Johansson) is hiding a Jewish girl in their house. The main character is going through difficult times: his peers mock him, his mother does not understand. Therefore, the child comes up with an imaginary friend who can help with advice, and this friend turns out to be none other than Hitler (Waititi), who has absorbed the features of the father of the protagonist and an exemplary leader, as if descended from the leaflets of Nazi propaganda.

The upcoming project will add new colors to Johansson's filmography - in recent years, the actress has appeared in Marvel blockbusters, comedies "Long live Caesar!" and Really Bad Girls, the controversial Ghost in the Shell, and gave her voice to several cartoon characters.
