Bond 25 is looking for a director again

Image And not a week has passed since Danny Boyle, due to creative differences, left the director's chair for the new part of Bond. The film was slated to begin shooting in December, so it's no surprise that producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael J. Wilson are stranded to find a replacement for Boyle as soon as possible.

Boyle once proposed an original idea for another film about agent 007, and John Hodge was supposed to write the script with him. It seems that their developments did not meet the expectations of the producers, who now intend to find a new screenwriter and director. Information portal Deadline just managed to find out the names of those who are the first in the list of contenders for the place of the director of "Bond 25".

The source writes that Broccoli and Wilson are considering Jean-Marc Vallee and Edgar Wright. Vallee is an Academy Award nominee for Dallas Buyers Club. As a director, he won an Emmy for Big Little Lies, and his other work includes Wild and Destruction. And if the choice of Danny Boyle to direct the Bond film was a risky step, then the choice of Jean-Marc Vallee was even more so. The filmmaker is renowned for his unconventional approach to work: he is prone to improvisation on set, prefers natural lighting and ignores common techniques such as rehearsals and the placement of actors.

Edgar Wright in this regard is the complete opposite of Valle. Since the release of Baby Drive, the director has not signed up for a single full-length film, and the source claims that Wright has every chance to take the director's chair of the new Bond.

Both Wright and Vallee will surely be able to bring something new to Bond after the polished aesthetics of Sam Mendes, but whoever Broccoli and Wilson choose, they may have to reschedule the project's premiere.
