Sherlock Holmes returns to action
Work on the Sherlock Holmes triquel began even before the release of the second part, but seven years have passed since then, and the audience never saw the return of the famous detective performed by Robert Downey Jr. on screens. Initially, the main problem was the busy work schedule of the actor employed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In October 2016, Warner Bros. even gathered a writing group for the film, hoping that Downey Jr. will still find time for filming, but it never happened.However, now the major has prepared some good news for moviegoers: Sherlock Holmes will return to service in two years. The WB management has set the date for the premiere of the third part on December 25, 2020. Both Downey Jr. and Jude Law are expected to star in the triquel. The director's chair of the project is still empty, and the last version of the script was written by Chris Brenketo ("The Barygi"). By the way, he was not a member of the aforementioned group of authors. It is not yet clear if the WB is ready for a new collaboration with Guy Ritchie, who has shot two parts of the franchise, since the latest joint projects of the studio and the director - "Agents A.N.K.L." and "The Sword of King Arthur" did not live up to their expectations. And Richie himself is now busy with the remake of "Aladdin" and is already thinking about a new crime drama in the style of "Big Jack".  Both previous films about Sherlock have grossed more than $ 1 billion worldwide for two. Trikvel will compete for the audience's attention with the second Avatar and the sequel to Sing, so Holmes and Watson have yet to prove that movie fans have been waiting for their return for a long time.
