For the debut weekend, the tape with Alexander Petrov in the title role received 225 million rubles, but still the result of the first film, albeit by a small amount, was improved. “Gogol. " The main character of the story, the heiress of the famous arms company Sarah Winchester, played by Oscar-winning Helen Mirren, lives alone in a huge seven-story building and is constantly rebuilding it, erecting more and more walls. Thus, she builds a trap for hundreds of vengeful ghosts who are eager to deal with the Winchester clan. For the debut weekend, the film of brothers Michael and Peter Spirigov managed to earn 27 million rubles, starting at the level of such horror films of recent years as "Doomsday 3" (26 million rubles), "Blair Witch: A New Chapter" (28 million rubles. ) and "Somnia" (29 million rubles). Among the advantages of the film, reviewers note the acting (the company of Mirren was made by Jason Clarke and Sarah Snook) and the visual component, but the script and plot pumped up a little.
