Warner Bros. Studio acquired the rights to the Tom and Jerry animation franchise back in 2006, but for a long time could not find the keys to the script for a feature-length film about the next round of confrontation between an unlucky cat and a resourceful mouse. Having passed all the circles of the production hell, the picture about the cult cartoon heroes is finally ready to go to work.The famous characters of Joseph Barbera and William Hannah made their film debuts in 1940. Over the next 18 years, MGM has produced 114 short films about the adventures of Tom and Jerry, seven of which won Academy Awards. Since the 70s, cartoons have become frequent guests on TV, and in the early 90s they returned to the big screen in the full-length film "Tom and Jerry: Motor!". Initially, the WB management wanted to make their film completely animated, but in the end they settled on a hybrid format - the computer Tom and Jerry will be accompanied by live actors on the screen. According to insiders, Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One), Zoe Deutsch (Why Him?) And Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) are currently fighting for participation in the project. The details of the casting are kept secret, but so far it is difficult to say which role these actresses are competing for.  Filming is expected to begin this summer.
