Gosfilmofond will digitize Soviet film posters
The Gosfilmofond plans to digitize all archived film posters from the Soviet period. Digitization became possible thanks to the Digital Culture national project, which is part of the Culture federal project. The latter will run from 2019 to 2024, its budget will amount to more than 100 billion rubles.Last year, viewers had the opportunity to get acquainted with a small part of Soviet posters from the archive at the exhibition "Soviet Film Poster-1968", which was held during the seventh St. Petersburg Cultural Forum, which has an international status. The archival materials of the main cinema depository of the country currently contain more than 400 thousand units of posters and photographs. Digital versions of the posters will be watermarked and posted on the GFF website for free access. The site will also list all films, posters for which are stored in the archive.
