Netflix loves robots and Fincher

Image What do alien spiders, bloodthirsty demons from hell and werewolf soldiers have in common? They will all appear in Netflix's new animated anthology, Love, Death & Robots ("Love, Death and Robots" *).

The anthology is described as a collection of animated short films of various genres - from science fiction and fantasy to horror and comedy. The idea for the project belongs to David Fincher ("Fight Club") and Tim Miller ("Deadpool"). Fincher has already worked with Netflix: their latest collaboration, Mindhunter, was released in 2017.

“This is a dream project,- Miller admitted in an official statement. -It combines my passion for animation and my love of exciting stories. For decades I was inspired by midnight movies, comics, science fiction books and magazines, but they were part of the freak culture that I belonged to. I am incredibly happy that the situation has changed, and animation projects aimed at adults are becoming part of mass culture. ”.

The first season will consist of 18 episodes, each 5 to 15 minutes long. The series will be the fruit of the work of teams of filmmakers from around the world and will combine various styles of animation. Viewers will be offered provocative and multifaceted stories that go beyond the genre. Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date for the anthology.
