USAn Box Office celebrates the return of the Incredibles
The total box office receipts of cinemas over the past weekend decreased by 4.5% compared to the previous weekend and amounted to RUB 659 million. More than half of this amount was brought by the animation novelty of the Pixar and Disney studios "The Incredibles 2" - the long-awaited sequel to the cartoon of the same name in 2004.After the events of the first part, the Incredibles enjoys increased attention from journalists. And while the charming Elastica is trying to raise the prestige of superheroes, her husband, Mr. Exceptional, has to stay at home and look after the children, which turns out to be much more difficult than fighting evil, dressed up in a heroic costume. But still, family problems will have to recede into the background when a new powerful enemy appears on the horizon. In the first weekend, The Incredibles 2 earned 349 million rubles, becoming the first cartoon this year to take over the box office. No one doubted that the tape would be able to bypass the results of the original cartoon, which 14 years ago earned about 104 million rubles for the entire distribution period, and also received an Oscar statuette in the Best Animated Film category. But beyond that,  Critics and audiences alike welcomed the animated blockbuster adventure very warmly. Well-crafted characters and dialogues, lively humor and a captivating plot were able to keep the attention of audiences of all ages. "Incredibles 2" successfully continues the story begun in the first part, raises many social issues, contains morality, but at the same time remains a cartoon for children, with a vivid picture and excellent action, which, it should be noted, sometimes looks much more exciting than in games films coming out in recent times. Of course, there were some minor flaws, but the picture by Brad Bird, according to reviewers, is absolutely worth the 14 years that had to wait for its release.  The leader of last week, the fantastic blockbuster "Jurassic World 2", could not stand the competition with cartoon superheroes and dropped to second place. The total box office of the weekend sank by 62%, and in total, following the results of the four-day period, Juan Antonio Bayon's tape managed to earn 175 million rubles. In total, the sequel is currently on the account of 940 million rubles. The previous part of the dinosaur franchise in 2015 in the second week of rental showed a smaller drop in fees, about 56%, and then they amounted to 237 million rubles. In total, over the same period of time, the first Jurassic World spent RUB 979 million.  Third place went to the comedy "Pretty Woman" with Amy Schumer in the title role. For the second weekend, the tape was able to earn 32 million rubles, thereby losing about 28% of the starting results. In total, the asset of the picture about a girl who, as a result of falling from a stationary bike, received anomalous self-confidence, now has 115 million rubles.  The fourth and fifth lines of the financial rating were divided by two new items of the past week with a small margin from each other. Slightly more successful was the USA horror "Photo for Memory". The debut directorial project of cameraman Anton Zenkovich tells the story of a group of young people who had an accident and went to an old house in search of help, where, to their surprise, they found a mysterious old camera and a snapshot of their own wrecked car. At the start, the film received 20 million rubles from viewers, however, judging by the reviews, they were disappointed by the viewing. Reviewers write about the protractedness of the picture, the huge number of cliches, both visual and script, the absurdity and boring of everything that happens, as well as the depressing play of the actors.  Following the domestic horror film is the Spanish-American biopic about the legendary drug lord Pablo Escobar. The film is based on the memoirs of a Colombian journalist who fell in love with a powerful criminal, and starred in the film by Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz. For the first weekend at the box office, the crime drama was able to earn about 18 million rubles. Viewers note that although the story has been well known to everyone for a long time, the film still turned out to be intriguing, with a perfectly recreated atmosphere, excellent work of Bardem and Cruz, who got used to their roles well.
