The world premiere of the new "Pet Sematary" will take place next month, "It 2" and "Doctor Sleep" are in post-production, and judging by the constant news in the press, Hollywood producers have decided to film any Stephen King work they find on the shelves of bookstores. Against this background, no one will be surprised by the information that the first progress in a couple of years has appeared in the work on "Talisman", whose path to the big screens has been delayed for almost four decades. In 2017, Josh Boone was chosen as the scriptwriter of the film, but he, apparently, is busy with "Confrontation", and therefore work on "Talisman" was idle. Now director Mike Barker, better known for television shows, will be in charge of the project, with such successful series as "Fargo" and "The Handmaid's Tale" on his track record. The adaptation is written by Chris Sparling (Buried Alive). "Talisman", written by King in collaboration with Peter Straub, tells the story of the adventures of young Jack Sawyer, who, in order to save his mother, is forced to go to a parallel universe in search of a mysterious artifact. In the filmography of Mike Barker there are also full-length films, the last of which, the drama "Ransom", was released in 2007. If "Talisman" is still filmed, then it will definitely become for the director the most ambitious project in his career. Source: Collider The Topic of Article: King's Talisman Comes to Life. |
