The bad guys are ready for a new assignment

Image The Bad Boys triquel has long been in development at the Sony studio, which has removed and re-included the project in its future releases. When Joe Carnahan was the director of the third part, it seemed that cops Mike Lowry and Marcus Burnett would finally get a new assignment. However, Carnahan eventually turned down the film, but Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are still eager to return to familiar roles.

As the website Deadline managed to find out, Sony's management has finally picked up a replacement for Carnahan: the studio is in talks with Adil El Arbi and Bilal Falla. The filmmakers may have heard of the production duo because they are also expected to lead the filming of Beverly Hills Cop 4, although there has been no progress since the summer of 2016. El Arbi and Falla burst into the world of big cinema with the action movie Blacks, and their new crime drama Bandos was recently released.

Now the main question is whether El Arbi and Falla will be able to meet the level set by Michael Bay, since in the second part of "Bad Boys" on the screen was a real adrenaline frenzy. In addition, after so many years of calm, viewers' interest in the once popular franchise has noticeably diminished.

Sony plans to start filming the triquel this August, and the only stumbling block may be Will Smith's busy schedule as he continues to add new projects to his resume.
