Star Trek 4 Will Go Down in History

Image Recently, the president of Paramount Studios, James Gianopoulos, confirmed that the major is working on two films from the Star Trek franchise. The idea of one of them belongs to Quentin Tarantino, but the director is still engaged in another project - the crime drama "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". The second is a continuation of the JJ Abrams trilogy and is already preparing to enter the history of the film series.

As Variety has learned, Paramount has found a director for Star Trek 4 - they have chosen S.J. Clarkson, who will become the first woman to lead a Star Trek film. It is noteworthy that Clarkson has not previously tried her hand at big cinema, but she has more than enough experience in television. The director's track record includes the series The Protectors, Jessica Jones, Dexter, Heroes and many others.

The plot details of the fourth part are still kept secret, but Chris Hemsworth is expected to return to the role of George Kirk in it. According to the source, there is an element of time travel in the sequel, which will allow Captain Kirk, played by Chris Pine, to meet with his father. The script for the tape was written by John D. Payne and Patrick McKay, and, most likely, it was he who was recently mentioned by Zachary Quinto, saying that Paramount is considering several versions of the text at once. Quinto, by the way, will also be involved in the filming of Star Trek 4, but Paramount has no active contracts with Simon Pegg, John Cho, Zoe Saldana and Karl Urban yet.

The fact that the fourth film will be, JJ Abrams announced even before the release of "Infinity", which grossed $ 343 million worldwide. The premiere date of the next sequel has not yet been set.
