Experiments of Utopia to be read in the US
Foggy Albion has always been a real forge of talent and one of the main providers of ideas for American television. At the end of last year, it became known that NBC had begun work on a remake of the famous sitcom "Computer Geeks". Now another good piece of news has come from the US for British TV fans. According to Deadline, Amazon is preparing an American version of Utopia.The original show debuted on British Channel 4 in January 2013. The story of the confrontation between the sinister organization "Network" and the keepers of the mysterious manuscript "Experiments of Utopia" from the very first episode won the love of true fans of conspiracy theories, action thrillers and good old ultraviolence. Although Dennis Kelly's series was warmly received in the press and won an International Emmy for Best Drama, some Channel 4 audiences considered it unnecessarily violent and began to complain to the network's management. Despite the protests of Utopia's loyal fans, the channel's bosses followed the lead of impressionable viewers and decided to close the show after the second season.  The unfair closure of the serial drama has only strengthened its cult status among TV lovers. The first attempts to reshoot the British hit were made back in 2015, when director David Fincher (Fight Club, Mind Hunter) and writer and screenwriter Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl) were working on a remake for one of the US cable channels. In August of the same year, the project was frozen, but now the new version of Utopia has safely returned to life thanks to the online service Amazon. The management of the streaming giant decided to dispense with filming a pilot episode and placed an order for the full nine-episode first season of the conspiracy thriller. Gillian Flynn is expected to act as screenwriter, showrunner and producer of the remake. At the same time, Hollywood insiders are still at a loss to say whether the Amazon bosses intend to involve David Fincher in the work on the series.  The details of the plot of the American version of "Utopia" are kept secret. New information about the remake will probably not take long, but for now, fans of the world of television have a great reason to refresh their memory or watch for the first time a bright, stylish and provocative original.
