Zach Snyder has decided on the next project
Last year, director Zack Snyder was hit by a series of misfortunes. First, the director lost his daughter, and then he was suspended from work on the blockbuster Justice League. According to Deadline, Snyder has coped with the turmoil and is ready to get out of sabbatical.It was rumored that Zach would return to the world of big cinema with a war drama about the adventures of an American photojournalist in Afghanistan. However, yesterday the director unexpectedly announced to his subscribers on social networks that his next project would be a film adaptation of Ayn Rand's novel The Source. Snyder became interested in the adaptation of Rand's book two years ago. It looks like the director has finally decided to leave the world of movie comics and start a non-superhero project.  The novel "The Source" was published in 1943. The book became a national bestseller and brought Rand worldwide fame. The protagonist of the work of the USA emigrant was the young architect Howard Roarke, expelled from the prestigious Stanton Institute of Technology for refusing to observe historical traditions in the design of buildings. A talented and ambitious modernist goes to New York to get a job with his idol Henry Cameron ... The story of the book's creation deserves a separate film. Shortly after moving to the United States, Ayn met the famous producer Cecil B. De Mille. In 1927, a Hollywood tycoon asked Rand to revise the script for Skyscraper. Initially, the text was about a dispute between two builders over the heart of a beautiful lady. Ain seriously redesigned the plot and made the main characters of the story architects. Ultimately, De Mille abandoned her ideas and handed the text over to Elliott J. Clawson. His work on the script for Skyscraper earned him an Oscar nomination. Rand did not become depressed and regretted the missed opportunity, but chose to use her scripts to create a book.  Soon after the novel was published, the writer was invited to work on adapting it for the big screen. Due to serious off-screen problems, the filming of the film stretched out for five years. As a result, the picture of King Vidor failed at the box office and earned negative reviews in the press. Hollywood has already made several attempts to film a new adaptation of The Source. At various times, Michael Cimino, Phil Joanu and Oliver Stone applied for the director's chair of the film, and Brad Pitt showed an active interest in the role of Howard Roarke.
