Batman and Suicides Back in Action

Image For the past couple of years, the DC cinematic universe has been overtly shaking. Wonder Woman, and now Aquaman, have achieved colossal success, which cannot be said of Suicide Squad and Justice League. In the wake of the changes initiated by the Warner Bros. studio, the press was full of rumors: Batman was either sent to rest, then returned to the guard of Gotham, and sometimes they even gave up on the colorful bunch of villains.

However, both the Dark Knight and the Suicide Squad return to action. WB has decided on the dates of the premiere of the films: the Batman solo album will be released on June 25, 2021, and soon after, on August 6, 2021, the new "Suicide Squad" will ripen. Apparently, the summer of 2021 at the box office will be marked by DC superheroes and villains.

Together with the release dates, other details of the projects became known. Finally, it was confirmed that Ben Affleck had hung the Dark Knight's cloak on a nail, and director Matt Reeves is looking for a younger actor for the main role in his blockbuster. According to the filmmaker, the solo film is a noir-style story in which Batman is considered the world's best detective. This arc has been touched on in the comics, but overlooked in the movies. So the audience will still see Bruce Wayne unraveling crimes and tracking down the culprits.

"Suicide Squad", unlike "Batman", does not lose, but finds. In October of last year, it was reported that James Gunn, who fell out of favor with Disney studios, was under the wing of the WB and will be writing the sequel. Now he is listed as the director of the project, which, in all likelihood, will not be a direct continuation of the first Suicide Squad, but its reboot. It is not yet known if the cast will change, but Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn will still be seen in Birds of Prey.
