Sony is looking for supermen

Image Several years ago, Sony signed an agreement with Valiant Comics to create five films based on the publishing house's graphic novels. Bloodshot is already in post-production and now it's Harbinger's turn. The That Hashtag Show portal shares rumors that Dylan O'Brien ("The Maze Runner") was offered the lead role in the film adaptation of the major.

If O'Brien signs up to take part in the filming, then he will play Peter Stenchek - a guy with supernormal abilities like reading other people's thoughts and telepathy. His power is enormous, but Peter does not know how to control it. Japanese Toyo Harada, the first of the so-called psiots, is ready to help Peter and invites him to go to a school for the gifted. Harada pursues his own goal - he dreams of creating an ideal world, which will be ruled by those like him. Of course, it has not been without the government tracking down people like Peter to turn them into living weapons.

The Harbinger is one of Valiant's bestsellers, with sales already exceeding 5 million copies. A few weeks ago, the adaptation got a director: Justin Tipping ("Cross") will head the film. Sony is eyeing not only Dylan O'Brien, but also Bini Feldstein (Neighbors. On the Warpath 2) and Noah Centineo (To All The Boys I've Loved Before). The latter may get the role of Joe - Peter's best friend.

The release of "Bloody Shot" starring Vin Diesel is scheduled for 2020, and Sony intends to start filming "Harbinger" in the second half of next year. If everything goes according to plan, then the "War of the Harbingers" will follow - a crossover in which the main characters of both films will unite, and then Sony will have another superhero franchise that can rival Marvel and DC.
