Father of the Rock will enter the ring again
According to the Internet portal Empire, work has begun on the biographical film Ring King ("King of the Ring *") about the famous wrestler Rocky Johnson, the father of actor Dwayne Johnson. The Rock is now, of course, very popular in world cinema, but this does not mean that his father, a former TV show wrestler and member of the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame, cannot have his own film.Directors Jonathan and Justin Gajewski, authors of the crime thriller Headcase, will write the script and film the future biopic based on it. They will tell the story of a fighter born and raised in Canada under the name Wade Douglas Bowels. He began his wrestling career back in 1964, performing at various venues in and around Toronto. Then he moved to the United States, where the civil rights movement was just beginning. He had to deal with racial discrimination outside the ring, but he still became one of the first black fighters to start working under a contract on a general basis.
